These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern any booking or engagement of photography and videography services from Studio J, founded and led by Jagadhish Raghuram, based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. By confirming a booking with us — whether via WhatsApp, our website, or in person — you agree to these Terms.

1. Our Services

Studio J provides wedding photography and films, pre-wedding and couple shoots, bridal and fine art portraits, and celebration coverage (haldi, sangeet, and related functions), as described on our website. The specific deliverables for your booking will be confirmed with you at the time of enquiry.

2. Booking & Payment

  • A date is confirmed only once an advance/retainer amount, as agreed with you at the time of booking, has been received.
  • The advance amount secures your date and is generally non-refundable, as it reserves our team's availability and turns away other enquiries for that date.
  • The balance payment schedule will be agreed upon at the time of booking and is expected to be honored as agreed.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule:

  • Please inform us as early as possible, over WhatsApp or email.
  • Rescheduling is subject to our team's availability on the new date, and may involve additional charges depending on the new date, season, or travel requirements.
  • Advance payments already made are generally non-refundable in the event of a cancellation, as outlined in Section 2.

4. Deliverables & Timelines

Estimated turnaround times for edited photographs and films are communicated at the time of booking and may vary depending on the scope of your event, the season, and our existing workload. We will keep you informed of realistic timelines and any delays.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • Please provide accurate event details — schedule, location, and key moments — ahead of time so we can plan coverage properly.
  • Securing permissions for photography or videography at specific venues (temples, resorts, public spaces, or private properties) is the client's responsibility, unless we've explicitly agreed otherwise.
  • Please ensure our team has safe and reasonable access to shoot locations and event areas.

6. Copyright & Usage Rights

Studio J retains copyright over all photographs and films it produces. As our client, you receive a license to use your delivered photos and films for personal, non-commercial purposes — printing, sharing with family, and posting on your own social media (crediting Studio J is always appreciated). Commercial use of our work — by you or any third party — requires our prior written permission.

7. Portfolio & Marketing Use

As explained in our Privacy Policy, Studio J may feature a selection of images and footage from your event in our portfolio, website, and social media, unless you request otherwise in writing before your event.

8. Force Majeure

Studio J is not liable for delays, changes, or an inability to perform services due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including severe weather, natural disasters, medical emergencies, accidents, or government restrictions. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to arrange an alternate photographer/team from our network or offer to reschedule.

9. Limitation of Liability

While we take great care with our equipment and data backups, in the rare event of equipment failure, accidental data loss, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control, Studio J's liability is limited to a reasonable refund or credit toward services, proportionate to the affected portion of your booking. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss.

10. Third-Party Vendors

Where your booking includes services from third parties — such as album printing labs, freelance editors, or drone operators — we select these partners carefully, but we are not responsible for delays caused solely by circumstances outside our control on their end. We will assist in resolving any such issues wherever we can.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you confirm your booking will apply to that booking. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
