Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 15, 2026
Studio J ("Studio J," "we," "us," or "our") is a wedding and event photography studio founded and led by Jagadhish Raghuram, based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit studioj.in, contact us through WhatsApp or our enquiry form, or engage us for photography and videography services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Enquiry & booking details — your name, phone number, email address (if provided), event type, event date, and location, submitted through our website's contact form or via WhatsApp.
- Photographs and videos — images and footage captured during any shoot or event you commission us for, including of you, your family, and guests.
- Basic website usage data — we may use standard, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors use studioj.in. We do not use invasive tracking or sell browsing data to advertisers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to enquiries and confirm bookings.
- To plan, deliver, and follow up on the photography or videography services you've booked.
- To showcase a selection of completed work on our website, Instagram, and Google Business Profile as part of our portfolio (see Section 3 below).
- For routine business record-keeping, such as invoicing and scheduling.
3. Use of Photographs for Portfolio & Marketing
Unless you tell us otherwise in writing before your event, Studio J retains the right to select and use a portion of the photographs and video footage from your shoot for our portfolio, website, social media, and other promotional material. We take care in how we present your images and never sell them to third parties for advertising.
If you would prefer that your images not be used publicly, simply let us know in writing (over WhatsApp or email) before your event, and we will honor that request.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with trusted third parties strictly to deliver your service — for example, a printing lab for physical albums, a freelance editor, or a drone operator assisting on a shoot. These parties are expected to handle your information responsibly and only for the purpose of completing your order.
5. Data Retention
We retain contact and booking information for as long as reasonably necessary for business, tax, and legal record-keeping. Photographs and video footage from your event are retained as part of our archive and portfolio unless you request deletion, in which case we will make reasonable efforts to remove publicly shared material.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect the information you share with us, including your photographs. However, no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You may, at any time, ask us to:
- Share what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate contact details.
- Delete your contact information from our records, subject to any legal or accounting obligations we must retain it for.
- Opt out of having your images used for portfolio or marketing purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10 below.
8. Third-Party Links
Our website links to third-party platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Google Business Profile. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these platforms, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
9. Children's Information
Our services are not directed at children, though children are frequently and appropriately photographed as part of family, wedding, and event coverage with the consent of their parent or guardian, who is the client engaging our services.
